Question - Write an expression that illustrates the total cost of all baked goods in the scenario above using the variable s to represent the cost of scones and the variable c to represent the cost of cookies. Simplify your expression by combining like terms.

Here is what I came up with but don't feel it is correct s(12x2+2)=p 12x2=24+2=26x(c)=profit c(20x2+10)=p 40+10=50x(c)= p
Can anyone help simplify the expression?

Where is the scenario?

In your industrial oven, you bake two baking sheets with 12 scones each, two baking sheets with 20 cookies each, and one baking sheet with 2 scones and 10 cookies.

How is the profit coming into the picture - you are asked write the cost function only.

Why do you have series of "equal to" signs (=) - in one line? The expressions separated by equal to signs are not equal.

How many scones are being baked?

Knowing cost of each scone = s, what is the cost of making scones?.................(1)

How many cookies are being baked?

Knowing cost of each cookie = c, what is the cost of making cookies?.................(2)

Add (1) and (2) to get your total cost function (no profit involved yet).
