Hello,

A question states that when 1+7^2+7^3+...+7^2004 is divided by 1000, a remainderof N is obtained, what is N?

I am not sure how to do this problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are these homework problems of some sort? You seem not to have the background material, nor are you able to even start any of them. This content-skill mis-match is disturbing.

If you are not able to make any guesses as how to start or what to try, please have a serious talk with your instructor or academic counsellor. If you can make a start or try something, please reply showing what you've done and tried.

Thank you.

Eliz.

malick, if you believe that practicing for the AIME & AMC contests will help, it may to a small extent. However, the whole point is that you struggle to find the answer on your own. Each year the contest has completely unique questions which implies that asking us for full-solutions is pointless. Every question you see on those contests will be different from year to year to ensure that students do not simply memorize how to solve this or that problem.

Contests are a measure of natural ability, your score cannot be forced higher through studying nor through reading a great number of solutions.
