Hi, I was just wondering if somebody could make some problems of simpliyfing and solve polynomials with X as the variable. I have my math Exam tommorow and just wanted to get a few more practice problems in i already finished three work sheets.

FIND ALL SOLUTIONS FOR X

\(\displaystyle -\frac{3}{4} \cdot x^2 \; - \; \frac{2}{5} \cdot x \; + \; \frac{7}{4} \; = \; \frac{5}{3}\)

(-3/4)x^2 - (2/5)x + 7/4 = 5/3

First multiply by the LCM (60) to clear the fractions:

-45x^2 - 24x + 105 = 100
-45x^2 - 24x + 5 = 0

Next, multiply or divide by -1 to make the coefficient of x^2 positive:
45x^2 + 24x - 5 = 0

I would suggest using the Quadratic Formula to finish the problem.

What's your point, Fastone? Mark was simply giving student an example problem, as requested by student

thanks guys wish you had not solved it so far fasteddie but thanks. took my exam today forgot cramer's rule :x. other then that think i did good. 1/4 of the test was matrixs thank god i know how to solve them on my calc.
