I need to find out if this function is even/odd/periodic/monotonic
f(x) = 2x^4 - 3x
I think I am right in saying it is neither odd nor even
is it even? when f(x) = f(-x)
f(-x) = 2(-x)^4 - 3(-x)
= 2x^4 + 3x therfore because of above rule not even ??
is it odd? -f(x) = f(-x)
-f(x) = -(2x^4 - 3x) = -2x^4 +3x which does not equal f(-x)
so not odd??
if so how do i tell if it is monotonic or periodic Im not sure what graph looks like. don't think it is periodic but maybe monotonic increasing. please help
