Do the following without a calculator:

1. Evaluate (3x^2 + 2xy) / (10y + 1), if x = 1 and y = -5

2. Simplify -3 - (-3)

3. Simplify -3 - | -3 |

4. Simplify (4^2*0) / 10

5. Solve 2 - 36x - 2) = 4(x + 1) - 18(1 - 2x)

All these problems are pretty simple - no tricks involved - why are you stuck?

Simply replace 'x' by 1 and 'y' by '-5' - then evaluate. Simple multiplication and division - do not need a calculator.

What is the value of the numerator - look carefully. Very simple.

Actually, legitimate tutors don't "do" students' assignments for them, and often don't even give out the answers. Sorry!
