ok i have not done math in a long time i have this problem and i need to be refreshed lol

evaluate the expression with the given values. if necessary round to the nearest tenth.

(x+2y)^2 x=3 y=4

Substitute
Use Arithmetic

Really, that's it

Rewrite the expression. Rather than write 'x', write '3'.

its not that easy for me lol it has been over 7 years since i have done this stuff done be mean

I don't think anyone is being "mean."

You are told that you should use 3 for x and 4 for y.

(x + 2y)^2

Substitute 3 for x and 4 for y: (and yes, 2y means 2 TIMES y, or 2*y)

(3 + 2*4)^2

Now it is just arithmetic. The "order of operations" is covered in elementary school...you can find numerous reviews on the Internet (do a search for "order of operations" on your favorite search engine).

If you are still having trouble with the arithmetic part, please repost and show us what you have tried.
