This is a really a calculator question but it involves calculus concepts. I'm having a problem using the MATH->9:fnInt( command on the TI-83 Plus graphing calculator. It's supposed to evaluate a definite integral with the syntax fnInt(function, lower bound, upper bound) but when I type in fnInt((1-x^2),0,1), it gives me a syntax error message and highlights the 0. I tried it with and without the brackets around the function. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated. :D

By the way, I already know that I can graph the function and then go 2nd->TRACE->7:integral:f(x)dx but that's so much more button pushing. :(

you also have to tell the calculator the variable. the correct syntax is ...

fnint(1 - x^2, x, 0, 1)

Okay, it worked. The website I got the instructions from didn't mention that part. Thanks!

Also, I have another question. Do you know if its possible to find the indefinite integral of a function on a graphing calculator?
