I'm supposed to come up with an equation that will provide an estimate of students riding the bus at my school from location A to location B. This equation that I have to create must be able to work for other bus stops, such as location A to location C or location C to location B. The equation must result in an estimate of students that ride the bus during a given time period. If I split up the time period into 6 categories (6:30 AM - 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, 1:20 PM - 2:00 PM, 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM, 5:20 PM - 6:30 PM) how would I got about creating an equation?

I am not sure that I understand your question fully. Is it the exact wording of the problem?

If not, please provide the exact wording as it was given to you and,

Please read the post titled "Read before Posting".

We can help - we only help after you have shown your work.

Please share your work with us indicating exactly where you are stuck - so that we may know where to begin to help you.

Like Subhotosh Khan, I do not understand the question and ask that you give it verbatim (meaning word for word exactly as it was given to you).

In addition, however, it would greatly help if you would indicate where you are in your math studies. Estimation can be done in a number of ways. If we give you an answer that is appropriate for a seventh grader and you are studying inferential statistics in college, our answer will not help you. If we give you an answer that is appropriate for a college student and you are a seventh grader, our answer will not help you. You know how much you know, but we do not until you tell us.

Finally, please show us any work that you have done, or, at the very least, tell us what ideas you might have about how to start this problem. We cannot help if we do not know where you are stuck.
