tim is cooking for 1500 people, He is using a recipe that serves 300 people and calls for 6 5/7 quarts of oil round the amount of to the nearest quart and estimate the amount of oil that he need to use for the banquet.
So i would need to mutiply 7 x 5 which would be 35 quarts . Please let me know if I did this correctley my daughter is in the 5th grade and she is getting to do accerlerated math so she get pratice sheet to work on on her own pace sometime I don't remember how to do a problem. But at the end of the year she will take a test if she passes she will skip 6th grade math so I want to thank you.Note that the problem says "estimate." This means we want to know "about" what the answer is, and we don't want it to be a lot of work.
Let's see....6 5/7 quarts of oil is about 7 quarts.
For 300 servings, then, you'd need about 7 quarts of oil. How many groups of 300 servings would it take to serve 1500 people? If it takes about 7 quarts of oil for each group of 300 servings, how much oil would it take in all?
So i would need to mutiply 7 x 5 which would be 35 quarts .
