Can someone show the steps for proving this is an equivalence relation? I'm lost how and I missedthe lecture!

A=1,2,3,4,5 B=3,4 C=1,3
Relation Z on P(A), the set of all subsets of A, as

X, Y, T if X (Union) B= T (Union) B

Totally lost here, if someone can show me the steps to this example I'd greatly appreciate it!

What are the properties they gave you for equivalence relations? How does this relation fit into each of those properties? ;)

I'm confused with the inclusion of the bottom elements and how exactly to solve with that. :(

What do you mean by "the bottom elements"? Also, what are the properties they gave you for equivalence relations? How does this relation fit into each of those properties? Proving that it's a relation means showing that it fulfills the properties, so we really do need you to say what those are, and show where you're having trouble fitting this relation into those properties. Thank you! ;)
