Hello mkgriffith06:
First, a comment about notation. When typing exponents that contain something more than a whole number, they're easier to read when enclosed in parentheses.
w = C * r^(-2)
The instruction to 'solve this' is ambiguous. We cannot determine a value for any of the numbers w, C, or r without first knowing the values of the other two.
As it's written, the given equation is solved for w.
We could solve this equation for C (i.e., use rules of algebra to rewrite the equation so that variable C is all by itself on one side of the equal sign).
We could also solve this equation for r (i.e., rewrite the equation so that r is all by itself).
Can you provide ALL of the instructions that came with this exercise?
Cheers,
~ Mark
