Do the cross products determine whether or not two fractions that are set equal to each other form a proportion to each other?

18/27 = 26/39

18/26 = 27/39

The cross products from both are 702. Do both sets form a proportion to each other?

First set: 18 and 27 can be divided by 9. 26 and 39 can be divided by 13.

Second set: 18 can be divided by 9 but 26 by 13. 27 can be divided by 9 and 39 by 13.

Follow-up

Thanks for your reply! It was helpful.

Consider the following: Display the numbers 27, 18, 26, and 39 so as to form a proportion.

I listed them in my first message.

They are as follows

18/27 = 26/39

18/26 = 27/39

Are both sets of these fractions correct as to form a proportion to the above or only one set?

The first set reduces to 2/3 = 2/3.

The second set reduces to 2/13 = 2/13.

Are both sets proportional to each other?
