I didn't really know where else to put these problems. I have to take this class as a gen ed even though I've changed my major and I desperately need help on three problems. I thought about posting them all separately but then changed my mind. Please help if you can. Thank you so very much!

3.(2 pts) There are 864 fans at a basketball game. Each fan is given either one T-shirt, two T-shirts or zero T-shirts. Most of the 864 fans received one T-shirt and exactly half of the other fans received two T-shirts. What is the total number of T-shirts given away?

4.(2 pts) Some black and white beads are strung on a piece of string. Part of the strand of beads is hidden under a blanket. How many beads are underneath the blanket?

5.(2 pts) Is the sum of 4 consecutive counting numbers ever divisible by 4. If so, when? If not, why not?

With number four we've realized that the black beads go up by one as the strand goes along (for instance: 1 black bead, two white beads, two black beads, four white beads) and the white beads are multiplied by two. I'm not sure if this helps anything?

This one does not make sense to me

5. Assume that the numbers are (n-2), (n-1), n & (n+1)

What is the sum of those numbers?

Please share your work with us indicating exactly where you are stuck - so that we may know where to begin to help you.

HINT: what happens if 1 fan gets 2, and 1 fan gets none...

HOW was this "realization" made? Even if it really doesn't matter...
