Do not understand

7r/12=-14

1/4(6b+2) - 2/3(3b-2)

I am having serious issues attempting these two problems,
can someone please assist me.

thank you :D

7r/12=-14

1/4(6b+2) - 2/3(3b-2)

For the first one, I assume you are supposed to solve for r. (Please list all instructions with your problems.)
Step one: since r is being divided by 12, multiply both sides of the equation by 12 and simplify:

12(7r/12) = 12(-14)
7r = -168

Step two: since r is being multiplied by 7, divide both sides by 7 and simplify:

(7r)/7 = -168/7
r = -24

Is your second problem written correctly, or is it supposed to be an equation? What are the instructions?
