This is rather elementary but got me scratching my head.
I was on a non-mathematics related forum and have been witnessing an on-going debate about the value of 48/2(9+3). My, along with others', answer is 288, but many are claiming the answer is 2. Some claim the 2(9+3) is an operator called "of" and post screenshots along with a link to purple math (last example) which shows the value should be 2. After some time the following picture surfaces.
Thoughts?
