the formula is:
210x + 294y + 490z + 735w = 14

the only acceptable variable solutions are whole numbers (negative or positive)
i've learned how to solve equations like these for two variables but not for 4. the method i know involves matrix multiplication and finding the gcd, if needed i can outline the method.
Any thoughts?

thanks

Thoughts of what?

There's 8991 solutions keeping each variable's range from -49 to 49

Re: Discrete math gcd formula

thoughts on how i should go about finding one of those solutions?

Hello Spidey:

(1) Set the value for each of three arbitrary variables to zero.

(2) Divide 14 by the coefficient on the remaining variable to find the value of the remaining variable.

You will then have one of "those" solutions.

How old are you? (This is a rhetorical question.)
