Hello folks. I have a question that has nagged me for years from my math classes. I used to come across ( albeit rarely ) weird units like the question below.
What is the difference between the unit "meter-second " and meter per second?

If meter per second is one meter for each second then what would meter-second be defined as? Surely not a meter for each second?

Ty for ur replies.

There is a simple answer: It depends on whomsoever wrote it and/or used it. It is a matter of style.

I have even seen meter/sec used.

I haven't seen the "meter-second" used but it is certainly different than a meter/second (m/s). The units m/s is a measure of speed while the meter-second is a (as far as I can tell) an artificial (non-SI or SI-derived or equivalent) unit. Some 'interesting' discussion can be found here
