\(\displaystyle f(x) = (x^{3} + 2)^{2}(x^{5} + 4)^{4}\)

\(\displaystyle f'(x) = [2(u) 3x^{2}][4(u)^{3} 5x]\)

\(\displaystyle f'(x) = [6x^{2}(u)][20x (u)^{3}]\)

\(\displaystyle f'(x) = [6x^{2}(x^{3} + 2)][20x (x^{5} + 4)^{3}]\) :confused: What now? Any hint? Product rule?

I don't know what you are doing:

\(\displaystyle f(x) = (x^{3} + 2)^{2}(x^{5} + 4)^{4}\)

\(\displaystyle f'(x) = 2 * 3*x^2 * (x^{3} + 2)^{1}(x^{5} + 4)^{4} + (4) * (5) * x^4 * (x^{3} + 2)^{2}(x^{5} + 4)^{3}\)

Now simplify....
