Hello. So at times I get confused with the difference quotient. The problem is find the difference quotient of f(x)= 1-x^3 for the difference quotient I gkt -h^2-3x^2-3xh. Is this correct or did I forget to distribute something?

For the difference quotient, I got -h^2-3x^2-3xh. Is this correct or did I forget to distribute something?
I will assume that you are using the following form for the difference quotient:

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \dfrac{f(x\, +\, h)\, -\, f(x)}{h}\)

(here)

I get the same result, though you might want to rearrange the terms "in descending order". This may change how much credit you get for your answer, depending on how much of a stickler your grader is. ;)
