Been stuck on this for quite a while now so any help is appreciated.
How much moment (or torque) is produced about point O by the wrench in the situation below?

Possible answers are 163 in-lb counterclockwise, 163 in-lb clockwise, 82.7 in-lb clockwise or none of them.
Thanks

Form the vectors [MATH]\vec{r},~\vec{F}[/MATH] in 3 dimensions setting the z coordinates to 0.

[MATH]\vec{r}[/MATH] is the vector from point O to point A

[MATH]\vec{T} = \vec{r}\times \vec{F}[/MATH]
T will be a vector in the plus or minus z direction. Use the right hand rule to interpret it w/respect to clockwise or counter clockwise.

You'll find the answer is one of those listed.

Have you studied cross-product of vector?

How were you taught to take moment of a force about a given point?
