Please solve by using the quadratic formula

2x^2 - 8x = 3

I get 4 +/- 11 square root 2 all over 2

Thank you in advance

I will guess that this means "(4 ± 11 sqrt[2]) / 2". But how did you get this?

Please reply showing your steps. Thank you.

reply - hopefully I did this right

-b ± √ -b2-4ac
2

8 ± √ -82-4(2)(-3)
2(2)

8 ± √ 88
4

8 ± 11 √ 2
4

4 ± 11 √ 2
2
I used the Quadratic Formula
-b ± √ -b2-4ac
2

8 ± √ -8^2-4(2)(-3)
2(2)

8 ± √88
4

8 ± 11 √2
4

4 ± 11 √2
2
