Hi, I have a math assignment due tomorrow and Im stuck on one question. Im pretty sure one of you math experts could help me out, its just that I missed a couple of classes and Im a little behind but anyways if one of you could awnser my question asap that would be great thanks, the question is as follows:

Describe the end behaviour of f(x)=2x/4x-7

Thnks alot again.

Please share with us your work/thoughts, so that we know where to begin to help you.

Also please define for us - end-behavior of a function

Look into your textbook, class-notes and google for a review.

to start-off try:

Re: NEED HELP IMMEDIATELY ON MATH ASSIGNMENT PLZ!

I plugged in a large value into "X" something like 100000 and I got -6.5 as the awnser and den i did the same thing but now put in "-100000" into "x" and I still got the same awnser therefore I concluded that
As x aproaches infinity, f(x) approaches negative infinity
As x approaches negative infitity, f(x) aproaches negative infinity as well

ur thoughts? I think i did the right thing but not sure. plz let me know

If your function is:

\(\displaystyle f(x) \, = \, \frac{2x}{4x-7}\)

Then your statements are incorrect.

From what you are saying - I think - you are evaluating

\(\displaystyle f(x) \, = \, \frac{2x}{4x} \, - \, 7 \, = \, -6.5\)

In that case, you have a constant function (horizontal line) - f(x) does not change.

Re: NEED HELP IMMEDIATELY ON MATH ASSIGNMENT PLZ!

then how would I solve the question that is asking?

Re: NEED HELP IMMEDIATELY ON MATH ASSIGNMENT PLZ!

First tell us - which one of the following two is your function to analyze:

\(\displaystyle f(x) \, = \, \frac{2x}{4x-7}\)........................................................(1)

or

\(\displaystyle f(x) \, = \, \frac{2x}{4x} \, - \, 7 \,\)...................................(2)
