I just want my answer checked to see if its correct:

find dervative: -3x^4/sqrt(4x-8)
i usd the quotient rule: and got (-12x^3)(4x-8)^-1/2 + (-3x^4) (-1/2) ((4x-8)^-3/2) (4)
and then factored out (4x-8)^-3/2 ((-12x^3)(4x-8)+(-3x^4)(-1/2)(4))
and then i simplified inside the bracket:
(4x-8) ^-3/2 ((-48x^4+96x^3+6x^4)
(4x-8) ^-3/2 ((-42x^4+96x^3))
and i got: 6x^3(-7x+16)/4x-8^3/2

is that correct?

Isn't this the Product Rule? If you REALLY mean the quotient rule, then many signs are worng and the denominator is missing.

Does "/" signify division or a LaTeX code? Where did this start? \(\displaystyle -3x^{4}\cdot\sqrt{4x-8}\) or \(\displaystyle \frac{-3x^{4}}{\sqrt{4x-8}}\)?
