Hi there I'm having a hard time differentiating the following: (y/10)^5/4, I'm getting (y/8)^1/4, but I know it is wrong because I treated the 1/10 as a constant and i didnt take it to the power of 5/4, can somebody help me with this?

You almost had it...

\(\displaystyle \frac{d}{dy} \left [\left (\frac{y}{10}\right )^{\frac{5}{4}}\right ] \ = \ \frac{5}{4}\cdot \left [\left (\frac{y}{10}\right )^{\frac{1}{4}}\right ]\cdot \frac{1}{10} \ = \ = \ \frac{1}{8}\cdot \left (\frac{y}{10}\right )^{\frac{1}{4}}\)
