The steps are too tedious to type out but I get f'(x) = -1/[2x^(-3/2)] while the back of the book says it's f'(x) = -1/[2x^(3/2)]. Which answer is correct? I'll provide my steps if my answer is wrong although it won't be pretty. Any help would be appreciated. :D

Your mistake is in puting it in the denominator. If you write it as
f(x)=x^(-1/2), which you probably did, you should get your answer except it is (-1/2)x^(-3/2), still in the numerator. When you move it down, you get the book's answer.
