Question:
A gold alloy has a density of 12.41 g/mL and contains 75.0% gold by mass. The volume of this allow that can be made from 255g of pure gold is what?
I need help setting it up. I don't know how to write it, so I can't find the answer.
If the alloy is three parts gold and one part some other metal, then find one-third of the gold (that is, one "part"), and add this much of the other metal to the gold.
