Cut line function for cubic equation y=-0.1x^3+1.4x^2-4.5x+5

i have to find a cut line (any function) for the equation y=-0.1x^3+1.4x^2-4.5x+5, domain of 0 to 10.
The line has to allow the amount above to fill in below the line.
I am unsure of where to start.
Does anyone have any ideas?

What is the definition of "cut line"? What are its special properties?

Are you saying any linear function?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. It seems like you might be talking about equal areas.

If the function were non-linear, then we could find a function similar to the green curve below, where the areas between the two curves are equal.

Is this close to what you're thinking?
