I know this is not related to homework, but I'm going on a vacation to Europe and in the summer and I need to know the currency exchange lol.

Lets say that a Canadian dollar exchanges for 1.05 U.S. dollars and also for 0.65 Euros. How much euros does a U.S. dollar exchange for?

I know it's 0.62 euros by using Google. But how can u do it by hand?

No, there are homework problems like this, often when students are studying ratios and proportions.

Lets say that a Canadian dollar exchanges for 1.05 U.S. dollars and also for 0.65 Euros. How much euros does a U.S. dollar exchange for?
Set up the ratios and proportions. You have these:

(C$)/(Euro) = 1/0.65
(C$)/(US$) = 1/1.05

You need this:

(US$)/(Euro)

...so set up the known ratios WITH THEIR UNITS, so the unwanted units cancel off. You're starting with US$ and want to find Euros, so you want to end up with "Euro" on top:

[ (Euro) / (C$) ] * [ (C$) / (US$) ]

. . .= [ 0.65 Euro / 1 C$ ] * [ 1 C$ / 1.05 US$ ]

. . .= ( 0.65 Euro ) / ( 1.05 US$ )

...and so forth. ;)

I've found it is also important to watch where you do the exchange. For example, present Canadian to Euro is about 69.42 Euros per 100 dollars Canadian. The Bank of Canada would give you about 66.64. On the continent, a shop would probably give you about 65 and you might be able to find 67.50-68 at local money changers.
