Currency conversion

I need to find out how to convert one American dollar to

• British pound 0.571505
• Mexican pesos 10.7956
• Japanese yen 112.212

The problem is that I need to find out how to convert our American dollar to each one of these currency's from other countries. I am not sure how to do this problem. Would someone please help me with this.

First you need to get the exchange rates you can use this cite http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/ so if you select British pounds, you can see that 1 us dollar is equal to 0.65124 pounds. be careful of the way that you are defining things.

If you sell 1 USD you can get 0.65124 GBP

1USD=0.65124GBP

So if you have x USD then you can get 0.571505 GBP

x USD=0.571505GBP

So put those 2 equations together

1) xUSD=0.571505GBP
2) 1USD=0.65124GBP

put 2 into 1: x(0.65124GBP)=0.571505GBP
solve for x: x=0.877564339 USD

if you have 1 MXN then you can get 0.07407 USD
MXN= 0.07407USD

if you have 10.7956MXN then you can get x USD

10.7956MXN= x USD

10.7956(0.07407USD)=x USD
0.7996=x
