create parallelogram w/ only a compass and ruler

Your subject line says "parallelogram", but your post says "square and rectangle". Which is it?

What constructions have you been provided?

Are you really allowed to use a rule (a ruled straightedge), or are you actually supposed to use a standard (unmarked) straightedge?

Is your compass collapsing, or can it "hold" at any given radius value?

What you have tried? How far did you get? Where are you stuck?
