Task 1:
Solve: 4x+6=2x²+3x-9 (two solutions for x)
Then use distance formula

Task 2:
Expand: a(x+1)(x-b)=0
Compare with ax²+3x-2a term by term.

I am guessing that you have translated these exercises from another language. The following is my guess as to what, in English, is meant.
