cos 1/2x same as cos x/2?

is cos 1/2x same as cos x/2?, if not can anyone point me in the right direction?
 
\(\displaystyle \L\\\frac{1}{2x}\neq\frac{x}{2}\)

\(\displaystyle \L\\\frac{1}{2}x=\frac{x}{2}\)
 
sorry im new to this forum... anyways my first post was wrong... i was trying to be quick and its queit hard to write maths using a word processor so i ll have another go... it was actually cos (1/2) x (x was seperate to the half... i new what i ment but tht doesnt help) so it is the same the same... thank you
