Coordinate Geometry

Hey. I have a coordinate geometry booklet due tomorrow and i need some help.

here are the questions:

1. write any equation that would be parallel to the equation y=-3x+4

2. write any equation that would be parallel to the equation 3x+2y-4=0

3. write any equation that would be perpendicular to the equation 5x-10y+30=0

and tell me how you figured it out please

also:

q: state the slope and y-intercept of x=-2 and y= -x

2) 3x + 2y - 4 = 0
2y = -3x + 4
y = (-3/2)x + 2

3) 5x - 10y + 30 = 0
10y = 5x + 30
2y = x + 6
y = (1/2)x + 3

Find the slope. All lines parallel to the given line will have the same slope. So pick any y-intercept you like (even b = 0), and write the equation of a line with the same slope.

2. write any equation that would be parallel to the equation 3x+2y-4=0

This one works just like (1).

3. write any equation that would be perpendicular to the equation 5x-10y+30=0

Find the slope. All lines perpendicular to the given line will have negative reciprocal slopes. (For instance, 3 and -1/3, or 2/5 and -5/2.) So pick any y-intercept you like (even b = 0), and write the equation of a line with the negative reciprocal slope.

4. state the slope and y-intercept of x=-2 and y= -x

For the second one, just read the slope off the equation, remembering that, in "y = mx + b", the slope is "m". For the first one, think about what type of line this is.
