Converting Excel Formula to Algebra

Is there a software or plug in that could help me covert excel formula to an algebraic formula ?

Can you give an example of what the input and output would look like?

One issue is whether you want it to choose its own names for variables (e.g. use x for C1), or use supplied names, or just leave it as C1. I can imagine different levels of intelligence.

I think we're not very close to managing this sort of transformation. One would also have to define iterative references.

I suppose, if one were to be very, VERY strict about Cell Names, rather than Cell References.
