a car traveling at 60 miles per hour could be written as y=60x + 0 in y-intercept forms.

would the standard form be -60x + Y = 0? (Ax + By = C)

But A must be = or greater than 0. A would be less than in this set up. I am missing something??????

How do you convert a Y-intercept into standard form?

You're okay. Just multiply both sides of equation by -1.

Some people stipulate standard form to be Ax + By = C.
Others say Ax + By + C = 0.
