Hi! Im doing maths to access a Dispensing optics course, and im on unit 12. 9 more to go.
In this unit im stuck in two problems, if any one please can help me.
Firt one is:
- a room has dimensions l metres by m metres by h metres high. It has a door d metres by y metres and two windows each c metres by f metres. How many square metres of paper are needed for the walls of the room?
what i did work out and i thing is very confusing is:
room=l*m*h
door= d*y
windows= 2c*2f
so x=lmh-dy-4cf
second one:
A car is driven z Km a working day but not used at weekends. It does g Km per litre of petrol. Find the cost of the petrol for the week in pounds, if petrol costs v pence a litre.
this i have workrd out like this:
x=z/g*v
if anyone can help me it will be apreciated.
Helen
