Factor x^2-3 over each set

a. the set of polynomials with rational coefficients
b. the set of polynomails with real coefficents

i don't understand this problem. how are you suppose to factor it if you dont know what the polynomails are??

Isn't the polynomial given as being "x2 - 3"?

What method(s) are you supposed to use for this? Your subject line refers to complex numbers, but this polynomial has no complex zeroes...?

Please reply with clarification. Thank you.
