good morning. In the equation: log x=1/2 Is this telling me that it is 10 to the 25th power divided by 1/2?
25

Re: Common logarithms

\(\displaystyle log(x)=\frac{1}{2}\)

25?. To find x, just use \(\displaystyle 10^{\frac{1}{2}}=\sqrt{10}=3.1623\)

25

Is it

\(\displaystyle LOG_{25}(x) \, = \, \frac{1}{2}\)

if it is then

\(\displaystyle x \, = \, 25^{\frac{1}{2}}\)
