2^x+1 . 2^-2=1/8

This is part of the log functions chapter we are doing right now

WORK DONE :

I know that I have to get all the bases to be equal to 2 so I did

2^x+1 . 2^-2 = 1/2^3

Then I got stuck because of the fractions.

Hello, killotin!

You were off to a good start . . .

2x+1·2-2 .= .1/8
.
We have: . 2x-1 .= .1/23 .= .2-3 . <--- There is the magic step!

Equate exponents: . x - 1 .= .-3 . ---> . x = -2
