It's tuff because one of the answer synonyms is a word having more than 24 definitions. Maybe that's not fair; so I give the definition. Also, there's usage in your crypt shared by mine (hence, the inspiration).

fix = verb: to set or arrange something in a certain spot or position (eg: she can fix your hair across your forehead, please fix a fire in the woodstove, Henri will fix a table for dinner)

The one matching the definition I posted, heh.

To fix a table = To lay a table

To fix hair across forehead = To lay hair across forehead

fix = LAY


I'll anticipate your next question: "What's da similarity?"
