i am a little hazy about how to choose the null hypothesis in a chi-square test.
let's say i compared whether a certain colour of a box influences buy decisions and i am comparing blue and red boxes in two different stores.
is the null hypothesis always assuming that variables are not correlated, in this case: colour does not influence a buy decision?
thanks for any insight
