Hi there, to ensure safe drinking water for me and my family I have to add 4mg of chlorine per litre. Our tank holds 20 000 litres.
my guess ( .000 000 4 x 20 000 = .008 ) Is my answer 8 grams? just seems to low and I cant risk getting it wrong due to bacteria/parasites etc.
Cheers :)

4mg -> 1 litre

Therefore
20000 x 4mg -> 20000 x 1 litre

Now 20000 x 4mg = 80 000 mg

There are 1000 mg in a gram (milli means one-thousandth)

So, 80 000mg = 80 000/1000 = 80 grams

PS. It's also important (possibly more so) not to get it wrong the other way and overdose on chlorine!

Thanks very much for the calculation!!!
