I've been asking people on this forum to check my proof for a few times now (in fact, I will probably write a thread asking for the same favour again right after finishing this one). But I don't want to bother others too much, so I kindly ask for your techniques to check your own proofs. I've already heard about some techniques, such as reading proofs out loud or changing surroundings when reading them, but I would like to know techniques that people who regularly help others on this site use. (I suppose I've used the word "techniques" too many times, but I don't know a better word ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

I think I have only one technique: I ask myself "why" at every single step or new line. And if I read other people's proofs, I look especially for the phrases "clearly", "obviously", "well-known", etc. since these are the points where flaws usually hide!
