For the first problem, one of the identities tells us that
1 + cot^2 A = csc^2 A, so
cot^2 A = csc^2 A - 1

Substitute this for the numerator:
cot^2 A / (cot A csc A)

cot A / csc A

(cos A / sin A) / (1 / sin A)

(cos A / sin A) * (sin A / 1)

looks like the result is cos A..........
