Here is the question: Using the formula method, change to polar coordinates. Show work.

(5,122 degrees)

I can do this by calculator and by evaluating 5 cos 122 and 5 sin 122. But is there another way in which I would use a "formula" or have work to show?

What you have is already in polar coordinates. You mean change it to rectangular coordinates?.

You have the idea. Except maybe use radians instead of degrees.

x=5cos(61π90),   y=5sin(61π90)\displaystyle x=5cos(\frac{61\pi}{90}), \;\ y=5sin(\frac{61\pi}{90})

That's it.
