Bob has half as many 10 cent pieces as cents. His cents are worth half as much as his 5 cent pieces. He has < $1 . How much does he have ? I have an answer of 80 cents, trying to show it is the problem. Thanks.

Rule #1 - Name Stuff!

C = Number of Cents
N = Number of 5-Cent pieces
D = Number of 10-Cent pieces

That's about half the battle. Let's see what you get.
