The point P has Cartesian coordinates (√2,1,1). Find the cylindrical coordinates of P.

So, here is my progress so far:

r^2= 2 + 1^2, r= √3

z=1

θ= arctan(1/√2) θ=45°=∏/4

(√3, ∏/4, 1)

Let me know if I did anything wrong, I am so new to this. Thanks in advance.

\(\displaystyle \arctan\frac1{\sqrt2}\) is not \(\displaystyle \frac{\pi}4\). Everything else is fine.
