Ok, so here is my problem: There is 180 students. 14 are taking history, english and math. 36 are taking history and english. 23 are taking history and math. 18 are taking english and math. 61 are taking history. 76 are taking english and 63 are taking math.

H = history, E = english, M = math.

From this I've concluded (I think) that |H| + |E| + |M| = 180 ??

Also, |H| n |E| n |M| = 14

|H| n |E| = 36
|H| n |M| = 23
|E| n |M| = 18

Now how do I find |H|, |E| and |M|?

Also, here are the questions that I think I understand.

How many are taking history and math but not english? Is this: ( |H| n |E| n |M| ) - |E| ?

Also, one that I dont really get: How many are taking none of the subjects?

I think a venn diagram would help me understand this better, but I'm not to sure how to set it up.

Help on this would be much appreciated!

Three overlapping circles.
