a researcher claims that the yearly consumption of soft drinks per person is 52 gallons. In a sample of 50 randomly selected people, the mean of the yearly consumption was 56.3 gallons. The standard deviation of the population is 3.5 gallons. Find the P-value, and is the researcher's claim valid?

ok, so im at a stand still and know im doing something wrong but have no idea what! can someone show me please?

h0=52 h1>52
56.3-52/3.5/sq rt of 50=8.78
I have done this every which way on my calc and always get that figure!!! that can't be right because i cant look up 8.78 in the table (it doesnt exist lol)...and I can't go on...please someone help me :)

The P-value is close to zero, indicating rejection of the null hypothesis.

ty so much! can u show me how you did that though, for future reference please. I really do appreciate it!!!!!
