Use addition and subtraction to get the terms containing "p", the target variable, all on one side of the equation, with the other terms on the other side. You will have two terms on either side of the "equals".
Factor the target value out of the two terms on that side of the equation, so you have "p(other terms)".
Divide off the factor with the other terms, so you get the target variable by itself. This is the answer they're looking for.
